Off the coast of [[Cerule]] is an island surrounded by mist, exactly halfway between [[Celestia]] and [[Oblivion]]. For as long as history can remember, this island has been home to the greatest magic academy in the world, currently named The Cerulean Academy. The first thing visitors notice is not the size of the buildings, nor the magical effects floating about, or even boisterous students practicing magic against each other. No, the first thing a visitor will notice and remark upon is always the different styles of buildings in the academy, as it is clear to see that it has been constructed and improved on for centuries. As a result, one would rarely come across a room designed in the same way. That also extends to the security of said rooms; while some have traditional, non-magical locks, requiring a key to unlock, others need the occupier to speak their names into it, or for a magical signature to be entered. ![[Wistram.png]] Over the years, much of the knowledge about the academy has been lost, with ancient knowledge of magic being locked behind doors and towers that no one knows how to enter, causing students to refer to it as the "Academy of Secrets". The Academy is split into groups, some based upon the magic they practice, others by the ideology they adhere to. Many students keep their affiliation a secret, as to not cause friction during their studies. --- The different groups of the academy are as such: > [!info-| grid bg-white c-blue no-i]- The House of Tides > This house mainly consists of Hydromancers and Aeromancers, although others may join, and believe the tower should be explored but to take a slow and steady approach. > [!info-| grid bg-yellow c-yellow no-i]- The Luminaries > This faction is a firm believer in righteousness and lighting the way for others, appropriately filled with many light mages. The Flame Queen, Alice, was from this faction, a fact of which they are very proud of. They are strong advocates for exploring the tower. > [!info-| grid bg-purple c-purple no-i]- Ullsinoi > A strange and secretive faction, Ullsinoi is full of schemers, pranksters and spies. This small faction has a lot of influence in political matters yet often use it. Although it is one of the oldest factions, there are no officially confirmed members of Ullsinoi. > [!info-| grid bg-gray c-gray no-i]- The Meridian Faction > A centrist faction, believing that the academy should not involve themselves in politics, whilst also being neutral on the tower. > [!info-| grid bg-green c-green no-i]- The Academy Delvers > This group of mages has seen a large increase since the tower emerged, due to their firm belief in unearthing new or forgotten magic, delving both into the forgotten depths of the academy and the unknown heights of the tower. This is the largest group within the academy, yet the majority of their members are within the tower. > [!info-| grid bg-red c-red no-i]- House of the Pyre > Formed after the doom of Wyveria, this house of pyromancers aim to produce a fire mage to rival Alice's power. Although primarily focused upon learning pyromancy, the house holds a deep devotion to death and the pyre. Fire is seen as sacred here and members often volunteer to tend to funeral rites. > [!info-| grid bg-brown c-brown no-i]- The Masons > Best described as a Guild, this is a practical group focused on maintaining and further building the academy. They do not get involved with politics or other factions, and allow students to join regardless of ability or what other factions they may be a part of, as every hand helps. [[Kokichi Muta]] was a part of this guild, and held a position as the Head Artificer ![[Dark Wistram.png]]
