During the first generation of the tower, the general approach to climbing the tower was to take it slowly and safely, documenting everything and claiming a floor at a time. However, there were individuals who ignored this and pushed up, often dying or disappearing, not to be seen again. Those that succeeded, that braved the unknown and survived, gained power that few could rival. Around 10 years after the tower's appearance however, the general population had caught up to the 5th floor, only to find that the frontier of climbers were stuck there, unable to go any higher. This was due to the 6th floor being way more difficult than anything up to that point. For the next few years, there were constant attempts to push up, and yet none succeeded. One day however, people noticed a group of the most powerful and adamant of these climbers had disappeared and it was assumed that they had perished in their attempt to climb higher as there was no sign of the 6th floor having been cleared. After a few more years, these climbers returned, bringing with them power eclipsing anything seen before. These climbers that had pushed past the 6th floor and returned were called [[The Heralds]], for they both showed that the tower could grant power, and that with great power comes great responsibility. The first two years after the Herald's returned was a period of expansion, the golden age of tower climbing, as knowledge of the tower and it's secrets were passed down from the heralds to all. After that, however, came the return of [[The Cursed Trio]] and the [[The War of Ascension]]. The following is a brief description of each herald. # The 7 Heralds --- ###### Her Royal Majesty, The Flame Queen, [[Alice|Alice Targaryen]], Friend of Dragons, Undying Spark of Humanity, World's Martyr Alice was born in [[Cerule]] to [[The Targaryen Family]], and lived there for 12 years before going to [[The Cerulean Academy]]. She spent 5 years as a student here, learning to become an accomplished Pyromancer, and had been planning to work there as an assistant to professors, before the towers appeared. She was a part of the academy's first expedition force into the tower, although she quickly separated from the group when they couldn't keep up with her ability and passion for climbing. Not much else is known about her ascent, although it is rumoured she created the glass desert on the second floor, and that she left behind a legacy on the fire island of the fifth floor. On her return as a herald, Alice had significantly changed, bringing with her a flock of wyverns and drakes and it is said she seemed to have matured greatly in the time she was gone. She used her ability to control fire and dragonkin to quickly establish the great city of [[Wyveria]] around Celestia's Tower, ruling the city for only 2 years before the events of [[The War of Ascension]]. Her inheritance was left to [[The Targaryen Family]], who have since became one of the 5 ruling families of [[Cerule]]. --- The Hermit, [[Tenlucis]], Eye of the Storm, Bearer of The Dark Heavens, Doombringer Tenlucis grew up as an orphan in Pittsburg, and was forced to enter [[The Tower]] as a way to earn money, planning on killing a few things on the first floor and leaving. It is rumoured that on the first floor, he found some rare sacrifices, giving him the ability to summon and control lightning, but that this lightning was incredibly volatile, forcing him to keep climbing to find a way to control his strength. He was rarely seen with others until his return as a herald, due to his fear of causing harm with his ability. On his return, however, he had much greater control over this and could safely use his abilities. He spent a lot of time on his return helping [[Alice]] build [[Wyveria]] and keep it protected, before he made his way to the 2nd floor to fight in [[The War of Ascension]] After the war, his rage and grief had caused his lightning to become active as a thunderstorm around him, harming any near him, forcing him to return to his home of Pittsburg and digging into the ground to keep himself from harming others. This area is now referred to as "[[The Pit]]", and is a topic of scientific interest as the depth is unknown, although a civilization has been discovered down there. --- The Prodigy, Professor [[Kokichi Muta]], Creator of the Battleborn, Head Artificer of Cerulean Academy, Kokichi Muta had been a professor at the [[The Cerulean Academy]] for some time before the towers first appeared, and was the leader of the expedition they had sent into [[The Tower]]. He was a major reason that the student's of the group survived, focusing on the group's safety, although there are unverified reports that he was seen on higher floors at the same time. He had been the Head Artificer of the academy, and this was seen from how quickly he picked up crafting unique gear with what he could find in the tower. After returning as a herald, he had become obsessed with creating the perfect lifeform, a golem that could function the same as any living creature. It is this obsession that led him to create the [[Battleborn]], a race of mechanical creatures with the souls of the living. Although frowned upon by many, these soldiers were instrumental in defending the continent during the war. Amongst his many creations was Cognito, his favourite golem that he pronounced as almost perfect.
