Dark Elves are an all-female sub-species of elves who lived on the dark continent and fought for the cursed trio during the War of Ascension; their army was led by Dread King ██████, the dark master. Only a few of their number remain to this day, as the army was weakened by their king's sudden disappearance and was fighting through the city of Wyveria for the dark brothers as it was destroyed by Alice, the fire witch.  A male dark elf is born only once every century, and they are usually second-class citizens. However, prophecy foretold that a male born beneath a dark star would become the dread king and pledge to great powers, and would come to destroy the world as we know it, bringing about an age of darkness. Dark elves usually fight using dexterity and various tricks such as poison and stealth. Their king, however, was a mountain of a man, even for an elf, and it was said he could cleave a horse in twain with a single swing.  The realm shook when black elven warships broke through the fog from the west, black steel marching on the beaches of Celestia. Black dragons and dark magicians ravaged the countryside, the army subsiding off the earth and scorching what remained. Celestia especially was hit very hard by these attacks and, to this day, both physically and mentally bears the scars of the dark elves' conquest. The king of the dark elves, ██████, had pledged his army to the cursed trio, and so it was that no mortal army could stand against them as they marched to meet with the dark brothers. The people of Celestia, brave as they were, knew deep down that their victory over the dark elves was by pure chance, and had the dread king decided to invade of his own accord rather than pledging themselves to the cursed trio’s cause, the continent most certainly would have been picked clean and laid bare. The dark elven forces were almost entirely wiped out during the doom of Wyveria, but with their king’s disappearance, some theorise they remain a threat. Following the end of the War of Ascension, the Frontier was founded to act as an early warning system in case the dark elves return, for the outside still fears the day that kraken-emblazoned sails are raised in the channel again. Any dark elves that did survive the doom of Wyveria would have fled into the towers or made a very hasty retreat back to their subterranean strongholds in the dark continent. The dark elves would come to resent the Dread King ██████  for his sudden disappearance, the subject of such remaining a mystery to them.
