The orks are a large, monstrous race which hail from beyond the continents, to the far east. Surprisingly, they are more related to elves than any other race, sharing a common ancestor. The Eastern Watch of Wyveria had been keeping the orsimer clans far beyond the main continent. Following the end of the War of Ascension and the doom of Wyveria, the Eastern Watch lost all military backing and was forced to retreat through the desert to Celestia. The Orsimer clans continued to fight amongst one another until they were all united by the ork warlord, Jaghatai Khan. The red-maned lion (named as such for his long red hair) conquered the other clans and brought them into his fold, uniting the hundreds of separate clans into a massive army of horse archers and raiders, and the red lion’s hoard galloped westward, tearing through the abandoned deserts of Wyveria and raiding the bordering settlements of Celestia. Celestia was still licking its wounds after their war with the dark elves and was still weakened following the war of ascension when the orsimer invaded, an easy target for the nomadic horsemen from beyond the continent. The Orsimer horde was unbeatable, and thwarted any army they met, tearing through the countryside as they pleased.
After the death of Jaghatai Khan, however, the Orsimer army began to splinter, united by his leadership and lost without it. Their horses returned eastward and settled in the far east of Wyveria. A number of subsequent khans attempted to recreate the success of Jaghatai, but none could meet his match. Of the subsequent hordes, there were only three of note; The hordes attempted to raid the avian monasteries of Schrade, but they were turned away by the fearsome avians and the mountainous terrain itself made horseback fighting impractical; They attempted to invade Arcadia, severe storms and weather stopping a majority of their naval exploits and only managing to land on the southern most island of Inazuma, where they were turned away by the dragonborn warriors there; and lastly they attempted to invade celestia once more, a recreation of their original conquests, but celestia had recovered from their defeats and their great castles, artillery and heavy cavalry rebuffed the nomadic horse archers, pushing them back east beyond the city of wyveria itself. And that is where the Orsimer remain, warring with one another as they most often do. They avoid entering the area around the city of Wyveria itself, their superstitions marking the city as cursed and bringing doom to any who enter.
Orks themselves are leagues stronger and larger than most other races, but lacking quite heavily in both their critical thinking skills and natural intelligence. It’s not that smart orks cannot exist; Jaghatai Khan proved that, but that they are as rare as a male dark elf. Like the orks themselves, the orsimer genes are naturally more aggressive than those of other races, meaning that half-orks begin their life more akin to their other half, and then develop more ork-like features as they age, and suffering great injury will speed up this process as the orsimer DNA takes the wheel to keep the body alive. Similar to their distant cousins, the orks are naturally a long-lived species, living to three hundred to four hundred years of age. They have eyes adjusted to the dark, as is in line with their fey ancestry, and their natural strength is notably far greater than a humans, but otherwise they bear no other similarity to their elven brethren.
